This video is a little off-topic, but it's so charming that I thought you might enjoy it. I filmed these baby seals at Kaikoura, in New Zealand, on one of my painting adventures. Amazingly, they travel from the safety of the New Zealand fur seal breeding colony, which is on the beach, travelling up the tiny Ohau stream and inland for about a mile or so, to get to this magical pool and waterfall.

Once there, they stay ( and play ) in this freshwater pool by themselves for anything from a few hours, to a couple of days. No adult seals make the journey.

Turn your speakers up and enjoy!
