You can see Cardigan quay on the right of this painting. A wonderful place to just relax and watch the river go by. Keep your eye on your chips though... those seagulls are very keen.

Pembrokeshire paintings

''Garn Fawr view - Pembrokeshire'' Oil on canvas 16'' by 12''. ( SOLD )

Garn Fawr is a rocky hill top a little inland and over looking Strumble lighthouse in Pembrokeshire west Wales. I took a walk up to the top on a bright sunny but cold day and this was the view coming back down.

Lighthouse paintings

''Strumble lighthouse - Pembrokeshire'' Oil on canvas 24'' by 18''.

£205 Unframed.

This is my second Stumble lighthouse painting. It's a fantastically wild place and this view can be seen from the disused world war 2 look-out installation that's used by ornithologists to keep track of migrating birds.

welsh art

''Gwbert estuary - Cardigan'' Oil on canvas 16'' by 12''.

£125 Unframed.

This is a popular spot for Sunday afternoon walkers and bird watchers. When the tide is out all the fishing boats and pleasure craft are left high n' dry.

If you've ever been to Fishguard in west Wales you'll have seen this view of lower harbour. A beautiful part of Pembrokeshire and an artists paradise.

''Mountain road - Tregaron west Wales'' Oil on hardboard 15 1/2'' by 12''.

£125 Unframed.

This autumn scene is on the mountain road in between Tregaron and Abergwesyn in mid Wales. A wonderfully wild and remote area of Wales where few visitors venture. The road heads on up the mountain to the Elenydd Wilderness hostels in the southern Cambrian Mountains of mid-Wales - Elenydd wilderness hostels trust

Cow painting

"Curious cow" Oil on canvas 24'' by 18''.

welsh art

''Quay street - Cardigan town'' Oil on canvas 16'' by 12''.

Fishing boat paintings

''Fishing boats on the river Teifi - Patch'' Oil on canvas 16'' by 12''.

The river Teifi at Cardigan West Wales is still a busy fishing port and here I've painted some of the fishing boats at low tide sitting on the sand in the bright sunlight.

Welsh artists landscape painting

''Fishguard lower harbour'' Oil on canvas 24'' by 18''.

£185 Unframed.

This is the view you get looking back having walked out to the end of the harbour wall in Fishguard lower in Pembrokeshire west Wales. Although a bustling place in the summer months you can visit in the winter and quite often be the only one there.

Mwnt beach ceredigion west wales

''Mwnt beach - Ceredigion west Wales'' Oil on canvas 20'' by 16''.

£185 Unframed.

Mwnt is lovely little beach here on the west coast of Wales. Being quite tricky to find you can quite often have the whole place to your self. It's also a great place to watch Chough, a fairly rare member of the crow family.

Cow paintings

"One of the girls" Oil on canvas 24'' by 18''.

£185 unframed

I grew up on a dairy farm here in Wales so cows are a favourite subject of mine. These Friesians are in lush spring grass under a warm sun and loving it. Can you blame them?

Canal boat paintings

''Brecon Canal'' Oil on canvas 16'' by 12''.

£120 unframed

I liked the layout for this painting. Looking through the arch of the bridge and on up the Brecon canal to the distant boats. I thought about putting a little smoke coming from the boats chimney but decided against it.

paintings of wales

''Cardigan bridge'' Oil on canvas 24'' by 18''. ( SOLD )

This is a painting of the old stone bridge here in Cardigan town in Ceredigion west Wales. The stone structure you can glimpse on the very right of the painting is Cardigan castle, which over looks the bridge.

This painting of Strumble lighthouse in Pembrokeshire west wales is the view as seen from the bird observatory a few hundred yards away. This is a wild and rugged place with the sea boiling and waves crashing. If you ever visit take your coat.

Paintings of Pembrokeshire

''Dinas Island from Dinas Mountain'' Oil on canvas 24'' by 18''. ( SOLD )

Being on the west coast of Wales' Pembrokeshire national park Dinas Island is a stunning place. Here I've painted it as seen from Dinas mountain. The day I was up there all I could hear where Skylarks singing high up in the blue sky. I sat on a rock up there for quite a while just... being.

Forest paintings

''Autumn forest walk'' Oil on canvas 24'' by 18''. ( SOLD )

With this painting I was trying to give the impression of a cool autumn morning. The warm oranges of the bracken look beautiful at this time of year and with the bright sunlight shining through the trees make a lovely scene.

Welsh pembrokeshire cottage painting

''Tri nant'' Oil on canvas 16'' by 12''. ( SOLD )

High up in the Preseli mountains of west Wales is this abandoned cottage. The welsh name 'Tri-nant' means three brooks / streams. The only sound to be heard whilst I was there was a family of Jackdaws that have made Tri-nant their home.

Welsh art

''View to Frenni Fawr - Preseli Mountain'' Oil on canvas 16'' by 12''. ( SOLD )

This is another welsh landscape painting. I chose a quiet road up on the presili hills. Whilst up there the only sound to be heard was an occasional ewe bleating. A beautiful spot indeed.

Landscape painting - Preseli

''Tafarn Bwlch - Preseli Mountain'' Oil on canvas 16'' by 12''. ( SOLD )

This welsh painting is of two derelict farm houses on the road leading over the Preseli mountain south. I went back to the spot couple of times to get the bright early morning sun coming in from the left to highlight the building as I wanted it.

Cow oil painting

"Ladies who lunch" Oil on canvas 16'' by 12''. ( SOLD )

I come from a dairy farming background so this Friesian cow painting brings back some great memories. There's quite a lot of blue and red in the ladies themselves surprisingly.
