This is a painting of Abercastle in Pembrokeshire. Abercastle is in between Fishguard and St Davids on the west coast of Wales and is a beautiful quiet and very small fishing harbour.

Llangrannog is a popular village and beach in the summer months and has a couple of great pubs too. This is the view looking north up the beach and toward the very recognisable rocky outcrop.

This is a scene high up in the Cambrian mountains of mid Wales and is very welsh art. This old cart track heads on up the Doethie valley and beyond. Once this area was dotted with numerous small farms, but most now lay abandoned and ruined as farming has changed over time making small holdings unviable, the land being absorbed by the few larger farms that remain.

Ty'n Cornel is an old Welsh farmhouse high up in the Cambrian mountains of mid Wales, nearest town Tregaron. It's now owned and operated as a youth hostel by the Ellenydd Wilderness Trust.

Ruby is a local boat here in Cardigan. I was down on the beach one day and she was sitting there looking lovely in the sunlight. I took a quick few photographs and worked up the painting from those.

This landscape painting is a typical West Wales scene, with it's Red Kites and Welsh Mountain Ewes I think it captures the remote wilderness of the high mountains and hilltops of Wales.

Mwnt Church has to be one of the most picturesque churches in Wales. Still popular with weddings today, the church is nearly a thousand years old and has a fantastic wooden ceiling. The beach a few yards away is beautiful, and somewhere I spent a lot of time as a child.

This landscape painting of the river Brefi running through the hills of West Wales has lots of juicy thick paint in the foreground, giving it plenty of texture and interest. Incidentally 'Llanddewi Brefi' means 'The Church of David on the river Brefi'.

High up in the Cambrian mountains of Mid Wales there is a remote youth hostel called 'Dolgoch'. Whilst visiting to do a little volunteer work I spotted this lovely corner where a small gateway leads out into open farmland, and here is the resulting landscape painting.

This landscape painting with two local fishing boats is of the mouth of the river Teifi opposite Poppit beach, and area known locally as Patch. I was struck by the bright sunlight and the way it bounced off of the boats and sand casting lots of lovely shadows. The Webley Hotel in the ditance helped to give a sense of scale too.

This is a series of landscape paintings worked up from some photographs I took in high summer up in the Preseli mountains of West Wales. I found this lovely view looking down a stone track and loved the perspective and colours. Painted a little more impressionistic than a lot of my other work, this helps to add impact I think.

Poppit beach here on the west coast of Wales is a huge beach and very popular with dog walkers and kite flyers. Because the sea is shallow for quite a long way out my sister and I used to play and swim here when we were children, even fifty yards out in the surf it's only waste height.

Tresaith here in Ceredigion has a beautiful beach with a small waterfall at the north end which makes it quite unique. Set back from the beach there is a small pub overlooking the shore with great views across Cardigan bay.

This is the second landscape painting of New Quay in West Wales I've painted this summer. This time the view is from the end of the pier looking back over the sheltered harbour at the town and the headland.

Cenarth is a beautiful village on the banks of the river Teifi here in West Wales. A popular spot with tourists and landscape artists because of it's dramatic water falls, this is the view seen from below the stone bridge looking upstream. Cenarth falls are on the other side of the bridge, and I plan on painting that scene soon.

This is a landscape painting of the old Cardigan bridge crossing the river Teifi here in West Wales. There has been a bridge in this spot for over a thousand years. On the right side of the painting you can see part of Cardigan Castle which has the strategic position overlooking the bridge and is resputed to be the site of the first eisteddfod in Wales.

Being primarily a landscape artist I've painted this scene at Fishguard harbour in Pembrokeshire before but not on such a large scale. There's quite a lot going on in this painting and the larger size canvas allowed me put this in without making the painting look too busy.

If you walk about a mile north up the coast from the small West Wales village of Llangrannog you will come to a peninsular called Ynys Lochtyn, this painting is of the view looking back to Llangrannog. Ynys Lochtyn is a beautiful spot where you can sit, and if you're lucky, watch the Cardigan bay Dolphins.

I've painted Strumble lighthouse in Pembrokeshire before but this time there was a gathering storm out at sea. The purple / blue clouds looming in from the west give this welsh landscape painting very wild and dramatic feel.

The village of Newport in Pembrokeshire West Wales sits between the mountain of Carningli and the sea and is a popular place for landscape artists. This is the view looking down one of the slipways in the harbour which, when wind and tides allow, can be mirror calm.

If you drive from Crymych to Rosebush in the Preseli mountains you'll pass this little landscape scene. I saw the way the sun was hitting the little stone out building and the farm house and the artist in me just had to paint it.

High up in the Cambrian mountains of mid Wales there's a hostel called Ty'n Cornel ( The most remote hostel in Wales! ). It's one of two hostel run by Elenydd Wilderness Hostels Trust and this is the view from the car park looking on up the Doethie valley, a remote and beautiful place.

''Tafarn Bwlch - Preseli Mountain'' Oil on canvas 16'' by 12''. ( SOLD )

This Welsh painting is of two derelict farm houses on the road leading over the Preseli mountains south. I went back to the spot couple of times to get the bright early morning sun coming in from the left to highlight the building as I wanted it.
